A travel agent was given the task to coordinate a last minute 50th birthday surprise to the Monaco Grand Prix. They had already secured the tickets to the race but due to the annual high demand around the event, scheduled flights were scarce both to Monaco and the surrounding area. We were asked to find a solution to this logistical challenge.

SOLUTION

Firstly we liaised with the client to find out where the couple would be staying as Monaco would be busy due to the Grand Prix. The travel agent had suggested they stay in nearby Nice as there was such a range of luxury hotels available and it would offer a tranquil base away from the large crowds in Monaco. Within 24 hours we were able to source three good options for the client to choose from and a Nextant 400XT was chosen to take the couple from the UK to Nice. The light jet seats up to six passengers so offered plenty of room for two, ensuring they travelled in comfort and could arrive ready to enjoy the birthday celebrations.

We also offered a solution for the Nice to Monaco transfers, organising a daily helicopter charter to and from the Monaco heliport, followed by a short five minute drive to and from the race track. Here, they were able to pick up their VIP passes which provided them with front row seats to the action and the opportunity to meet and greet some of the world’s best F1 drivers.

FLIGHT REPRESENTATION We had people on board every flight ensuring that nothing went wrong. We also had a rep at the airport check in to ensure the birthday boy enjoyed VIP treatment from the minute he arrived.

CATERING: At the terminal we arranged a Champagne reception, a bespoke menu and of course more Champagne to kick off the celebration!

THE FINISHING TOUCHES: We created personalised headrest covers, napkins and coasters for the journey. The screens showed a slideshow of photos of the client throughout his formative years, supplied by his wife.
